Israeli prime minister hopes to gather anti-Iran support in world tour

Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on board an aircraft Israel’s hawkish prime minister has started out a string of significant overseas visits with the clearly-stated aim of magnetizing enmity towards Iran.  “We are at the start of a significant diplomatic period” for Israel, Benjamin Netanyahu said on Sunday before going on the tour,  The Guardian   reported. The visits will take him to the UK, the US and Australia. “In the diplomatic sphere, I intend to emphasize the need for a common front against Iran’s defiant aggression, which has raised its head in recent days. This must be done on an ongoing basis, but especially in light of Iran’s defiance against the international order,” he added. The premier has never ceased to stigmatize Iran throughout his career atop the Israeli political hierarchy, but he has been more signally leading the hostile policy since 2015, when the Islamic Republic and world powers, including the UK and the US, clinched a landmark nuclear accord

Iranian foreign minister "unmoved by threats" from U.S

Iran's Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif tweeted on Friday that the Islamic Republic was unmoved by U.S. threats following its missile test launch and that Tehran would never initiate war. "Iran unmoved by threats as we derive security from our people. Will never initiate war, but we can only rely on our own means of defense," Zarif wrote. U.S. President Donald Trump tweeted early on Friday that "Iran is playing with fire" and "they don't appreciate how 'kind' President Obama was to them. Not me!" Trump said on Thursday that "nothing is off the table" in dealing with Iran following its launch of a ballistic missile. Fellow Republicans in Congress said they would back him up with new sanctions. Zarif said Iran had no intention to use its military might against any country, except in self-defense. "We will never use our weapons against anyone, except in self-defense. Let us see if any of those who complain can make the

Iran planning indigenous S-300 missile system: Defense Minister

Iran's Defense Minister Brigadier General Ahmad Vahidi says the Islamic Republic is progressing well in the process of manufacturing an air defense system similar to the Russian S-300. “We previously announced that manufacturing the system was on the agenda and although this important objective cannot be fulfilled quickly, the manufacturing stages are making good progress,” Vahidi said on Saturday.  Alluding to the latest breakthroughs by Iran’s Defense Ministry, Vahidi said, “We hope to present our missile and naval achievements in the near future.”  In early September, Commander of the Khatam al-Anbiya Air Defense Base Brigadier General Farzad Esmaili said that Iran has completed 30 percent of the production of the system, called Bavar (Belief) 373. Iranian experts have completed the long-range missile system's threat detection mechanism and manufactured its sensitive parts, Esmaili noted.  He expressed hope that the system will be complete by the end of the curr
