Israel Securities Authority to Form Committee to Oversee and Regulate ICOs

Bitcoin In July, the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC)  moved in on the "Wild West" world of ICOs , which has sent the blockchain world reeling. Now, the Israel Securities Authority (ISA) has announced its own plans to form a panel to regulate Initial Coin Offerings (ICOs). This week, the ISA announced that its chairman, Prof. Shmuel Hauser, has put together a committee to examine the regulation of ICOs. The committee will investigate the applicability of securities regulations on ICOs based on shared ledgers that are being offered to the Israeli public. On July 31, the Israeli Bitcoin Association (IBA) made its own  official public statement on the topic of ICOs. The IBA cautioned potential ICO participants that it’s important to understand the huge risks that exist in investing in ICOs. This new world tends to captivate innocents tempted by the hope of getting rich quick. We implore the public considering investment in ICOs to treat the matter with serious

Israel to collapse like apartheid regime in South Africa: Activist

The Israeli regime will collapse like the apartheid regime in South Africa as oppression will not last long, says a political commentator.  “They (Zionists) are going to ... manage the Gaza and the West Bank exactly like the apartheid [regime] in South Africa and will collapse one day,” John Phoenix said. “It is not going to be long before the collapse [of the Israeli regime], because that’s not going work for a long time,” to commit crime and get away with others’ support, Phoenix told Press TV on Wednesday.   While Palestinians are living in two tiny sections of their historic homeland surrounded by fascist settlers, “there is no room for so-called two states,” the activist said. “There will be no such thing called two states” because Israeli Prime Minister is seeking to put pressure on the Palestinian people and create a so-called Jewish state, "which in fact means a Zionist state," he added. “The Zionist dream is to have a so-called pure Jewish state, which is a raci

Two Palestinians killed, 5 injured in Israeli airstrike in Gaza

In this file photo, an explosion is seen following an Israeli airstrike in Rafah town in the southern Gaza Strip. At least two Palestinians have lost their lives when the Israeli military carried out an airstrike against an area on the border between Egypt's troubled Sinai Peninsula and the besieged Gaza Strip. Palestinian sources said the attack targeted a tunnel which Gazans use to bring basic needs into the coastal enclave in the border town of Rafah early on Thursday, leaving two Palestinians dead and five others injured. The sources identified the deceased as 24-year-old Hessam Hamid al-Soufi and 38-year-old Mohammad Anwar al-Aqra’, both residents of Gaza City. Two of the injured are in critical condition. The victims have reportedly been taken to the Youssef al-Najjar hospital in Rafah to receive treatment, Arabic-language Palestine al-Yawm news agency reported. The airstrike came shortly after the Israeli military claimed that it had intercepted several rockets fired f

US Iranophobic claims complete lunacy: Pundit

A political analyst has described as "ludicrous" the US policy of demonizing Iran as a threat to the world stability and "sponsor of terrorism." Robert Inlakesh has criticized the United States for spreading Iranophobia, saying that labeling Iran as “the biggest problem and the biggest cause of terrorism in the world is complete lunacy." US President Donald Trump claimed in an interview with Fox News that the Islamic Republic of Iran is “terrorist state number one.” Inlakesh noted that Washington's anti-Iran policy is not reasonable because “Iran is one of the only [players] keeping the region from completely falling apart.” An image released on January 7, 2017 shows people gathering amidst the debris at the site of a car bomb attack in the town of Azaz in northern Syria. (Photo by AFP) The United States is angry with Iran over its steadfastness in opposing American regime change policy in the Middle East, he said, noting that Washington and its region

REUTERS/AMMAR AWAD By Maayan Lubell | JERUSALEM (Reuters) - Israel passed a law on Monday retroactively legalizing about 4,000 settler homes built on privately owned Palestinian land in the occupied West Bank, a measure that has drawn international concern. The legislation has been condemned by Palestinians as a blow to their hopes of statehood. But its passage may only be largely symbolic as it contravenes Israeli Supreme Court rulings on property rights. Israel's attorney-general has said it is unconstitutional and that he will not defend it at the Supreme Court. Though the legislation, passed by a vote of 60 to 52, was backed by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's right-wing coalition, i

Friday Morning Briefing: Trump unsettled on Israel settlements

No one thinking seriously about peace can ignore the reality of the threat settlements pose to peace. – John Kerry, secretary of state under former President Barack Obama, Dec. 28, 2016 We cannot continue to let Israel be treated with such total disdain and disrespect. They used to have a great friend in the U.S., but not anymore. The beginning of the end was the horrible Iran deal, and now this! Stay strong Israel, January 20 th is fast approaching – President Donald Trump Dec. 28, 2016 "While we don’t believe the existence of settlements is an impediment to peace, the construction of new settlements or the expansion of existing settlements beyond their current borders may not be helpful in achieving that goal." – White House statement, Feb. 2, 2017 The White House statement could disappoint Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his far-right support, which had hoped that Trump would give an unqualified green light on settlement construction in the West Bank and
