It is the country's second aircraft carrier, after the Liaoning, and the first to be made domestically. State media said the unnamed ship was "transferred from dry dock into the water" in the north-eastern port of Dalian. Previous reports said it would be operational by 2020. It comes amid heated rhetoric between the US and North Korea in recent days. China has had only one operational aircraft carrier, the Liaoning, which it bought from Ukraine and refitted. The US has deployed  warships and a submarine  to the Korean peninsula, prompting an angry reaction from North Korea. China has urged calm. There is also the ongoing issue of  competing territorial claims in the South China Sea . The new carrier will deploy Shenyang J-1

China-based Canaan Creative, a bitcoin mining firm commonly known by Avalon, its bitcoin mining chip brand, will open a data center powered by hydroelectric power at the ‘Node Pole’. Owned by power companies, the technology infrastructure hub is situated in the Boden region near the Arctic Circle n in Sweden. Canaan, which manufacturers ASIC microprocessors, claims to be the first Chinese bitcoin company to open a data center in Europe. The facility will operate at 10 MW at its initial stage, leaving room for expansion in the future. With the announcement today, Canaan Creative co-founder and chief executive N. G. (Photo by AFP) A Chinese naval fleet has wrapped up visits to four Arab states in the strategic Persian Gulf region. The Chinese task force, consisting of the guided-missile destroyer Harbin, the guided-missile frigate Handan, and the supply ship Dongpinghu, departed Kuwait on Sunday after stopping in Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and the United Arab Emirates, media reported on Monday. The Chinese task force completed an assignment escorting commercial ships and patrolling for pirates in the Gulf of Aden. It was the 24th Chinese task force to be assigned such missions since 2008.
